Ok, I followed the instructions. The doors locked and unlocked as they where ment too. Problem is that once finnished I leave the car, close the door, press the 'lock' button on the remote and nothing happens.

I have a evo 8 import. are there any other steps I need to do?

hey guys, I apologize for posting the same thing in another thread, but this one has a lot more responses. here is my problem:

I just got my lancer OZ a couple days ago. I know this is an older post, but I have been searching for an answer I cant seem to find. The PO lost the key with the keyless entry FOB. so i want to get a replacement.. i do not have the number Serial # that is on the back of the FOB... how do i know which one to get? Iam trying to avoid ridiculous dealer fees. also the key i got with the car will only unlock the driverside, but when i put it in the passenger side it will only lock the car? is this because it might be a Vallet key? can anyone point me to a good seller on ebay to get the keyless entry? thanks

FYI - Tried this, works like a charm. Used a 2-inch piece of wire. Did it with the driver's side door open, so that doesn't matter. Programmed 2 FOBs with no issues.

Ok, I am looking on ebay and I see a bunch of different remotes. Can anyone tell me which one I am looking for? The car is Canadian doesn't not have a remote, does that mean i'll have to look for one with the FCC ID of:

And which other remotes will work? Can i get one of those remote keys? I saw people posted that the eclipse ones work but which year's eclipse remote? Remote key or just the remote? will that work on an 06 Lancer?

And what about this Evo key i found from Hong Kong?

What do I need to do to make that work?

I picked one up off ebay with the trunk button on it thinking that it would be a cool addition... trunk button doesn't work for my 04 Ralliart.
As for programming it, easy! I did take me a couple tries with my paperclip, but I got it done and am happy that I now have a backup remote.

04 OZ no problem

Just got a remote off eBay for $9 (a steal), programmed fine. The timing is a little tight when jumpering the OBD connector, I used a paper clip, but it works great. I left the driver door open, KOEO, like the instructions said.

I need another though, a backup. My original is dead, drives the battery to 1.5v when I press a key. Grrr...

Not sure if it's a no no to bump threads that are a year old, but I bought a keyfob from ebay. I got a piece of speaker wire and went through the steps, key in, wire in, six hazard, lock/unlock, 3 clicks, lock/unlock, wire out, key out. And when I go to lock or unlock the car. Nothing, every time I repeat the steps it seems to work just fine but again, nothing. I NEED HELP!

Beeps?

You need to get all the beeps, especially the confirmation.

But if you just bought a case, or what I bought, you do not need to program.

Anyways, if you still can't get it let me know, I'll send my link.
