Decal/Pillar Questions
Decal/Pillar Questions
Not sure if this is the right place to post but i have a couple of ?s for you guys.
1. What is the best way to put decals on windows?(just got my evom decals in the mail)
2.How are the A pillars removed? are they just snapped in(like everything else in the car lol) or is there a process that i have to go through? I would eventually like to take off the headliner, so any help on that would be appreciated as well.
3.I bought 3 gauges from a member here and i'm wondering on the easiest way to install them. I have Boost/Vac(i'm N/A), Oil Pressure, and Oil Temp. If anyone has pics of where to put the senders, that would be a big help.
Thanks

As far as I know usually the best way to put on decals is just like tint. You need a spray bottle filled with a mixture of soap and water (you should probably look up the approx. percentage of each). You might also want a razor blade and rubbing alcohol. Put some rubbing alcohol on something like a cotton ball and rub the part of the window you want to put the decal on. Then scrap the window with the razor blade to scrap off any grim or extra dirt that is not easily removed. Then spray the window with the soap and water mixture. As you are pulling the decal off the paper spray the decal with the soap water. MAKE SURE YOU SPRAY AS YOU GO!!! If you do not and the sticky part falls onto any of the other part of the decal you could be screwed. Make sure to keep applying plenty of soap water mixture to the windshield and the decal as needed to keep the decal's adhesive from sticking. Try to layout the decal in the spot that you want it to stick. You should be able to fairly easily slide the decal around once on the windsheild as long as you kept plent of soap water mixture on it and the decal. Once you have it in the position that you want it in use a credit card or a rubber wedge (can get them in do-it-yourself tinting kits). Usually a little spray of soap water mixture on the card or rubber helps it to move around on the decal. Use the credit card or wedge to gently drag out the water and air from under the decal. Take you time to do a good job and add more soap water if you need to. Be careful not to pull too hard on the decal with the credit card because you risk ripping the decal. Keep doing this until all the air bubbles and water is out from under the decal. If you use a heat gun to help the adhesive dry to the window be very careful because too much heat can ruin the adhesive. When I did this with my old car I just let it air dry for a couple of hours and then you should be good to go. I hope this helps.
A-pillar removal...
Just grab ahold of the pillar with both hands. And pull on it towards the center of the car. It will pop right out and the clips will be left inside the frame. Grab some pliers and pull them out. Slide them back onto the pillar and your all ready to go.

Heres a how to on how to install the sender for the oil pressure. Boost is useless for NA. But if you really want it i guess you couldtap a vacumm line for it. I dunno...
Oil temp is same as oil pressure. You could use one of those oil pressure gauge install kits like it did, and mount the sender on the firewall somewhere like recomended by Autometer. And a T fitting would allow you to run the oil to both the pressure gauge and the temp. Dunno about the accuracy of the temp if you do this tho. Anyone else care to chime in

Give me your e-mail address in a PM, and I'll attach some images that shows you the removal of the pad. I'm just not liable for any risk involved in the procedure. Mainly dealing with the airbag. So just give me your e-mail and i'll send the diagram as soon as I receive the PM. I will also include a diagram that shows you how to remove the headlining since you said you were interested in that.
