Lancer rear drum brake how-to???

Lancer rear drum brake how-to???
I'm so surprised not to find a How-To about brake shoes for our Lancer. So I've never done them before, and would like to find out so I can begin to do them myself. Could anyone with previous knowledge in this area help me out here?
Also, I remember seeing performance Axxis brake shoes available for our drums; anyone have these? Or are they actually needed?

Have you checked your Drums to see if they actually even need replacement?
The rear Drum replacing is alot more difficult job. You need the proper tools to be able and remove the springs that hold the brakes in place.
It's do-able though!

^^^It's details like that I need to know; like if special tools are needed and so on... I know I need new shoes because they're starting to squeel bad now.
Am I correct in saying that I'd be able to pry off the drum "wheel-side" cover to check out things? Or are there nuts/bolts holding it in place?

There's nothing holding it in place besides the brake pressure itself.
Remove the wheel and the cover of the drum should come right off. If not, knock it a few times w/ hammer loosen it up for you. It should slide right off. If not, that means there is still brake pressure.

me and a friend took apart my rear passenger brake (on the wheel that was bent out of place, and had the suspension fixed) anywayz, the wheel was still on a bit of an angle, and the drum was makin crazy noise, so we took it apart, and he said the "spindle" is bent, he pointed to what it was, i guess its the axel thing that the brake and wheel sit on.
anyone have any idea on how much it costs to buy these? If it is more than $100 i can just get it done under warranty, but if not, me and him will buy the part and have a bash at it.

i looked through my warranty book, its in there. i got the second best coverage.

Reading the link on the drum how-to, will it be too difficult to undo the springs and reapply them once the new shoes are in? Will they need to be compressed or anything? Details like that are my main-concern; the basics are...well, really basic. Anyone with actual Lancer drum brake experience here???

Well you need a special tool to remove the wardware screws. You can get that at autozone or something. As for the other springs, those are tricks of the trade. You can use some pliers and a Flathead screwdriver. All about shifting the spring w/ some force and having it slide on the screwdriver until it stretches into its place and recoils for fitment.
