I was just going to say "talk to Celm." He knows his stuff, and has a history of successful imports. I just wish a silver Evo V would become availible, lol.

we think we might have figured out how to get it back with switching the vin numbers from a marage to the evo. we still have 3 years to find a loop hole so i hope we get it. i knew a guy back in he states who imported skylines ( r32,r33,r34) they were neat but when my husband and i acually came to japan and they were every where it sucked. i love my evo and don't want any other car. but when we get to the states i am buying a big truck.

I'll add that for a car that will only be used as a show car or a track car there's a different set of rules to get them imported (maybe even no rules). For the Rnessa that you just want to show you can look into that.

Cars that you do not intend to register (ie race only or show) are a lot easier to bring over.

For the OP, be careful using a "importer". Quite a few people have gotten ripped off.

That what I am nervous about is getting ripped off or never seeing my cars again. It has happened alot you really have to trust the person/ company you are going throught to get your car to the states. Celm: if you have any ideas or can direct me in the right direction please let me know. As for haveing just a show car I would like both cars to be daily drivers. For me there is no reason to stick a car in a garage and take it out on the weekends its pointless. (Only my opinion with my cars, no offence to any one)

I agree with Evo 9 noob, I was once overseas and I was going to bring my European spec Porsche 911 Carrera 4 Cabriolet. I did extensive research and it was not worth spending nearly $10k in mods(headlights, crash beams, speedometer, emissions, front windshiel, bumpers, door reinforcements, certifications,DOT tires, blah, blah blah)

I found that USA has the most bizarre and stupid traffic laws in the world. You must comply with test crashes, emissions and all that BS but they don't care if you don't wear a helmet while riding a bike, they don't care if you give ride on the bed of a pick- up truck, they don't care if you drop a 454CU block on a Chevy cavalier without taking the car to have it inspected for better brakes, suspension, etc.

My list goes on and on but I could prove you that this country's traffic laws are absolutely stupid to the bone.

Noise? sure, drive a Harley full throtle at 130db and you are OK, put a aftermarket muffler on your car in Cali and you get a ticket. Build yourself a VW dune buggy without bumpers put a couple of $5 lights from autozone and you are OK but you can't bring a japanese car from Japan. Don't get me started on this topic, this country's traffic law SUCKS!!!

Go 20 mph over the speed limit and you are consider a criminal and you just committed a "federal ofense"

Carlos
