Got Springs, but need help to install!
I got some Sprint Lowering springs for my Lancer. I already have my rims and will be buying tires tomorrow. I will be getting the springs Tuesday. Can anybody direct me a cheap/good way where I can get them done, or some help. Anybody willing to help me, I could buy you a 6 pack lol. Or some tips on How to do them myself. The coils I got were F* up. Thats why I dont want to put my new rims on with those cols. Trying to go a different way from who did my coils since that person never finished it, was missing parts when installed n still, and needed instructions lol.
Anyways, I want someone that did them before. I've been thinking of doing it myself but I'm a lil iffy since I've heard its dangerous. I've seen people do it and it looks very easy! Hopefully it will be!

I'm not sure I understood about your coils, but if I lived near Ft. Worth I'd definately help you out. I'm about to get some springs and do them myself as well. They aren't hard at all. RRM actually has a how to posted up. Good luck with it.

I installed my own springs, it's not that difficult if you have the right tools.

lol 4 hours, damn. I'm currently in huntsville and theres a lot of people here at school from fort worth. Is that a 4 hour drive? if not, I could help you out. But yeah autozone can usually loan out the spring compressor, but most springs don't need it. I know the eibachs do. I will be ordering mine on tuesday. either eibachs or tein s-techs.

Damn, I just looked at a map. Of all the places I go, you have to be at least 3 hours north of all of them. lol, well if I decide to make a spur of the moment trip to Dallas I'll let you know. Although it's basically one straight highway, which could drop the time to around 3 hours flat...

spring install is actually pretty simple. i didnt want to because i didnt know what the hell they were talking about in half of the how tos but i gave it a shot. came out great. the only problem i had was getting the back struts to line back up with their holes at the bottom. took me an hour and a half to think up using a jack to push it back up to line them up.
Hey you guys. I got the front installed. Me and my friend didnt know what we were doing and installed the small Spring in the front.
Does the big fat one go in the back?

This one is in the front:

And pics on the front. Before and After:

Everytime I turn, the spring pops. I'm thinking is because the middle nut thats on top holding everything in place, is lose. I got an impact wrench to take it off(REQUIRED) but didnt to tighten it. So I'm going to my friends and get that fixed. Hopefully thats the problem. Rides alot better than those cheap *** coilovers.
I could still use some help. Did I do them right? The skinnie ones in the front, and thick ones in the back?

The diagrams I see online show the smaller, thinner spring in the rear, and the thicker one in front on all US Lancers from '02-'05 at least.
EDIT: pics

I know for sure the large ones are in the front man.... I installed APEX springs in the front of my ride, and Tiens in the rear, gives it a nice raked look. The popping sound could be the spring seating in the pocket (Had they been the right ones) but I think that the pop is coming from the fact that the spring CAN'T properly seat, and it is spinning around the strut. Go back to your friends place, put the car up on stands, take the fronts out, springs off, and put the fatties up front. Those rears are meant to carry at most the rear with a sub box, not an engine. Hopefully everything turns out alright, odds are the worst case scenario of this is you have to spend the time to put the springs back in the right spots. Hope it all goes well, and hope to see the pics of your ride finished man..... Nice to see that black isn't the only color that gets dirty easy... LOL You will notice (I think with sprint) that the front will be a little lower once it is properly installed. Maybe .
