Bought my car, 04 Lancer OZ, early last year , just wondering what should I do maintenance wise as far as a tune up for hitting 30K mark...comin up in a few hundred miles ....but dont want to get raped by the dealer, rather do it myself..waht steps did you guys take...

ps....this will be the first tune up/maintenance.

 

Basics... plugs, look at the plug boots, air filter, oil change w/ filter (of course), check belt tightness, balance tires.

Anyone have something else?

 

tranny flush is usually done at 25k the dealear told me so do that if you havent got it done..check all fluids

 

how much could it possibly cost you at the dealer... like 100$?

 

get denso Iridium plugs, best plugs!!!!!!!!!!

 

Get Autolite Coopers, they'll be just fine... I've used the same for 50k miles on my Lancer.

 

At 30K you should:
Radiator Flush
Oil Change with filter
Air Filter
New Plugs
Check Plug wires
Check brake pads/replace brake pad
Check all fluids

I also remember that there's another fluid flush in there but i can't remember.
You can get sheet that tells you everything you need to do from the dealer without having to get it done. hope that helps!
