Trouble with lightbulb clamp

I had a low beam fillament go out in my lancer the other day its an 02 oz... but I am having a hell of a time getting that clamp that holds the light bulb in place to let go of it... I try'd doing a search, didn't see any topics relating to this. It's on the side where the windshield wiper fluid goes in so space is really limited any suggestions would help out a lot thanks!!

Take the headlight out........make it easier to work and on the 02-03's it takes like 1 min. Once its out you may be able to get it out much easier.

When you say clamp? do you mean the socket attaching to the 9007 bulb? Cuz I use a flat-head driver and had to pry it off carefully... Also, working in the dark and getting that headlamp "ring" was a little difficult.

I had the same problem the other day. Just keep working at it, it will come off.
