your check engine light should not have come on. maybe you knocked a vacuum line or a electrical connector loose... what code is it?

the check engine light went away. i think the reason why is, that the MAF(mass air flow) sensor was loose. other then that, thanks for the infomantion. highly appreciated.

not much at all, you shouldn't even need to top the reservoir off. any leftover coolant in the TB will drain out--just keep the coolant hoses you disconnect pointing up and have paper towels handy and you will be fine.

sorry to bring such an old thread back but have some questions

1.will this mess up my car?

2. did you feel a difference in performance as in great or just ok?

3. so what I would do is to disconnect the two lines, cap off the TB return and supply lines and just run 1 hose to the return and supply on the other ends on block?

Thread resurrected, Well I live in Arizona, and hot nights & very hot days are coming up very soon. Now if I do this mod, will it over heat my car? Since there is no more coolant going into my TB. Thanks!

the only purpose for the coolant to run throught the t/b is for the fiav valve , or fast idle air valve which is a fine tune for the iac on colder days ...

when you turbo compressed air gets hot hence an intercooler, it will have lil effect and isnt really worth it on N/a either imho

Not that it applies on mitsubishi's but on other cars such as mazda it will throw a cel on certain occasions
