OMG Look what I did to my head light
A better way (IMO) is to black out the headlight units from the inside, removing any potential for weathering on the tint material you're using. Fox and I did it with his car a few years back. I can't find the DIY thread anymore, though.
Essentially what you do is take the headlight out, bake it in an oven to allow the factory seals to melt, and then sand down the metallic/reflective portion. Once done, you can paint the sanded down area with high temp resistant paint and then put them back on. They dull the projection of your headlights, but with HIDs, they look great.

If anyone is interested i operate a plotter to do window tinting and installing paint protection kits and graphics.I am able to do headlights in clear film if visibility is an issue for people.Clear film also protects headlights very well please feel free to pm me if you have any questions, or would like a set.
