Dont Want Too Much Rice in my Diet!!

Help... I am getting one of the RRM intakes in red, i wanted to paint the engine cover but i wasnt thinking red, i dont want it to clash or make people involuntarily vomit when i open the hood. my car is the graphite gray... do i have any other option for paint color on the cover! this is something i would like to do today, so immediate assistance is appreciated!!!

red wouldn't look to bad with the graphite grey, but you could try it in blue also.. any color really would look good.. don't go with a really bright color though, try a darker blue or red if you that's what you're going for

lmao! lime green and pink would bring out those parts alot! but i wouldnt go with red.. maybe you can do a darker red? im not sure seeing as how i havent done anything to those parts yet.. maybe try it out online, use photoshop and see what color/colors you seem to like best? or maybe you could try using a gunmetal color? not sure how it would look, but im just throwing out ideas right now lol

This is how mine came out. It should give you an idea of what color you want. I would go a little darker though. I have a graphite grey GTS too. (THE PIC IS AN ATTACHMENT) Tell me what you think.

i like it alot!!! would be proud.... i was thinking the same thing about leaving some black plastic accent, im not sure what color i want to go with yet, i wanted to have this done already, and because i am so indecisive it hasnt even been started... EAGLE you seem to be a visionary, what do you think? should i go red to match the intake, or should i try the gunmetal idea?

I would go with the gunmetal. I wish I would have done a darker blue or gunmetal. I am getting a blue intake so maybe that will help bring everything together. If I were you, I would go with the gunmetal. Everyone has used red so you should be unique and try a gunmatal color. Make sure you use high heat primer, high heat paint, and high heat gloss. Also, take your time taping off what you dont want painted. It took me about an hour to tape everything but it was worth it. Clean the cover with a non oil based solution before you paint- I used dish soap and it worked great. Good luck and post pics when your done.

I have a Graphite Grey too and I will be painting my gunmetal. I'm a fan of dark colors. I have a blue SRI of which I am also considering painting gunmetal. But on the cover I also threw around the idea of painting the and MIVEC red. Rice? Or not rice? What do you think.

Not rice at all... that is a good idea... i think i am set on the idea of Gunmetal, and now with your help i will probably accent the and mivec as well... i think if you have a blue SRI you should go with blue accenting...

Now... here is the real question of the day... i forget on which thread i read it but someone somewhere (real helpful i know) said you just need some rustoleum plastic spray paint and you are all set to paint these? now do we need high temp primer paint and clear or just some plastic spray paint???????? i pretend to be a good wrencher, but i fully admit i am a novice in the world of paint...
