covering hole on CF trunk
ok guys i have a cf trunk that had a oz wing on it b4 and im thinking about buying a evo wing, i want to cover a hole in the middle of the trunk how do i go about doing that and the evo wing on reg hole that i have at the 2 ends correct?
They sell plugs that will fit fine. Or if you want to go REALLY low-tech, electrical tape works.
I sealed the wing holes in my Camaro trunk with Scotch tape for a week when I was patching a hole. Kept the water out fine.

hole in a CF trunk cant really be patched... since you have drilled through the CF. Just have to plug it somehow. When I first changed from evo wing on my stock trunk I got some black plugs at a napa and used silicone to hold it to the trunk. worked great for weeks till I got my CF trunk.
Go to a hardware store and see if they have a 2part epoxy(something preferably dark in color once mixed) and some high temp tape that is transparent usually blue or purple in color, or ask for something that you can put over a 2 part epoxy and it won't adhere to the epoxy once you cover it and its cured but still stick to your trunk - its called flashbreaker tape but not sure if you can get it at a regular hardware store
Don't use scotch, duct, masking or electrical with the epoxy as it will cure to the epoxy and you won't be able to take it off of and you'll have tape stuck to your trunk
1. Put a piece of the tape on the inside of the trunk
2. Fill the hole on the outside
You can tape the outside if you want and then fill from the inside of the trunk lid.. this parts up to you whatevers easiest to work with
Just FYI - if you wondering about the tape... when you use flashbreaker tape on epoxy's like this it creates a really smooth surface as long the hole is filled flush all the way across preventing you from having to sand anything... and not having to worry about digging into your surrounding clear or even getting down to the CF..
Once the hole is filled flush with epoxy put another piece of tape over it and smooth it out using an ID card or something flat and plastic. Once the epoxy cures peel the tape off and paint it black using a small fine paintbrush. You don't wanna leave too many deep brush strokes in it... Then go ahead and brush a little clear if you want to
But other than silicone plugs this is the only other way i know except for patching it with more CF and thats way too time consuming for a little hole..
