Hi guys,
When I first saw a new Lancer with a digital information display I wondered will it also have a digital speedometer gauge.
Frankly I was a bit disappointed to find that's not gona happen, though sensors can measure and display average speeds.
Digital speedometer looks cool and is very easy to read numbers off the screen. If you've seen Civic or Prius you will get an idea.
Is there any known software/firmware/flash update? To add a new screen to information display? It seems like it should be fairly easy to do.

apparently GM is going back to HUDs big time. The G8 will have it as an option, as will the 08 G6 (GT and above). I believe the vettes have them. The Arcadia has it and they are making it an option with some buicks apparently.

Heads Up Display. Small reverse projection display shows speed, gear selection, turn indicators, radio info, etc up on the windshield, down low and center usually. The windshields may be special, a bit of reflective surface, but I believe GM did away with that in the 04 and up GPs like mine (just standard windshield).

They are great driving aids, should be available on all cars. keeps you from looking down to change stations or scan your guages. Only wish the one in my GP showed the tach/revs as well.

i bought a defi HUD a while back for my g35 ut never had the chance to install it. im gonan see if itfits the new lancer. if it does.. boyaaa
