I was at work and man there is this guy, who comes to me and asks me if the car is mine I said yes and he goes like "man what a waste of time, you could have better car with that price and better engine " now I know the guy is wright about the engine because I paid more for the GTS thinking that had a bigger engine but its still a 2.0 which is not bat but the 18" wheels makes it slower so I figured this GTS is more for luxury than it is for performance although it rides perfect but I think people are just waiting for the RA edition of the lancer to get a good performance. Now do you guys had the same situation as me that everyone makes you feel like you could have waited for the RA edition ??? because it comes with the same platform but turbo !! which its nice but still I like my GTS and I dont regret a penny !! but its too bad Mitsubishi released a GTS as the sporty model but not changing the engine ?

 

here is the thing, thats the sigma you get with people out there. They dont seem to realize that Mitsu has come away. My girlfriend was leasing a honda civic before we made the jump into this car. We went to the dealership to buy out the honda (so we could sell it to a another dealer for a profit) and the guy said "you ordered a lancer, Man your are stepping down to a lower car" lol i said really eh?

a month later when our car was delivered I parked the Lancer on the Lawn of the Honda and walked around looking at the other cars for a while. Lol because no one has even seen the lancer before it was drawing a crowd after about 10 minutes. lol it was funny.
I bumped into the Lease manager to ask him a few questions related to leasing stuff, and when i was done, i was asking him what he thought of the lancer. He said its ok, but a civic is much better, wanna lease one? lol no thanks, I just bought that (pointing out the window)

Then he had a million and one questions for me lol I even let the blok sit in it. hahah

anyways , people talk smack about things they havent even seen.

The Lancer story is half told, the success of the EVO X will further boost the Lancer's popularity if Mitsubishi plays their cards right. I think they modelled the cars close together for this reason.

I just think they made a mistake not making enough GTS's the line up for this cars is terrible.

 

jaja man what a story and isn't funny for example here in Puerto Rico people criticizeso much the lancer GTS because of the wheels and the toys it has so they say its better to buy the ES or GT which its being sell here as a (ES with GTS bodykit) so first thing they do they ask for someone who has the stock GTS 18" wheels to get them and put them on their 06 lancers or 08 basic models whats the purpose of that ? are they suffering because they wanted to buy the GTS but didn't had the money ? and then we see them making clones on GTS with DX models ? so man I don't understand a thing? honestly in this days we need to take the critics as admirations jeje It happens always !

i get complaments everywhere i go an its mostly always someone older than me.
its not the fastest car but its already setup to easily install a turbo. im going to upgrade the interior and entertainment until a kit comes out. probally will be before the ra comes out and it will probally be faster than the ra.

 

its only in due time when the aftermarket companies start jumping on the platform. once they start making parts for the car, the popularity of the car will definitely increase.

 

I love my car I've had alot of people stare and ask about it, especially since I took the mitsu and the lancer logo off the back it just has the mitsu Symbol anyways people always looking especially all the kids in their lil hondas I havint had a bad responce to my car yet!

 

I havent' had a bad comment yet... everytime I leave the car parked don the streets, when I come back to get it.. I see people looking at it and commenting how good it looks and about all the things it comes with... and I did not buy this car for speed.. it performs better than I thought.. as many people say, this car is more of a "sports-loxury" compact car.. as long as im happy with it I don't really care what people say.. we all know that for the money we could prbly have gotten a better engine.. but that's not the point here...

I had people of every kind compliment the whip. I had guys with M3's, EVO's, Subaru's come to me and tell me the car looks like the X. And that they love the new style. They say it's an intelligent lookin car.

You know as well as I do, Honda people are going to talk the most smack.
Not one toyota owner said anything.
Mazda talks smack too, but here is the funny thing.
Evo owners talk smack too. WTF is up with that??
Another crazy thing is, that the guys with Hondas, not the SI owners but the lower models, always want to look at the GTS. The SI's don't even try and look. Like it's beneath their contempt. But I looked at the price of SI's fully loaded and your going to spend 32K on that. We got the same amount of stuff that they have in their car (aside from the engine) and it's 5k less. LOL!
And the guys with older year hondas who have mods try to rev their engines. LOL
I am like WTF do you see here? Do I look I am challenging you?

One honda was talking smack and I looked at his modded whip and I was like, "Yo, take off your mods and lets race stock, *****. And then you talk smack afterwards."
After that, he shutted up real quick.

These guys are threatened with the Lancer. They know this is not the older version. They know it's a NEW car. Not just, as they say, a dress up over the same car. But a whole new car, engine and design.

So unless it's a SI, no one dares to talk smack. The car is faster then it was rated on reviews. You gotta put some time into the car to know this.

Our car just to begin with, looks better then any Honda.
While you got all the amenities and style, they got the basics.
All they have is an engine. Speaking of SI owners.

You got ripped bro. If you paid $27000 for your lancer, you probably should have gotten a world class BJ with it, because most of us paid $22000, tops.

Also, a lot of people like to rip on stuff they don't have, either because they are jealous, or because...well, mostly because they are jealous. They want what you have, so they try to make it seem like what you have isn't as good as you know it is. Brush 'em off and enjoy your new car.

 

prices may vary from state to state and country to country. in canada the there is no NAVI package so the price may seem to be off, but its actually in line

 

yep you are correct mine cost 20,000 with no Navigation system

 

yeach that may be the reason ... they are jealous about the fact that we have cars that number one are new, number two they have an astonishing plat form and also here in PR there are not too many with HID bulbs so it may not be the fastest engine but sure its a sexy look , my boss told me it looks exactly as his Lexus 350 in the back but he liked the car a lot because of how modern it is so 4 ever!
