F1 Style Side Mirrors

Ive been looking into these mirrors and have a question about installing them.
Almost all the sites that sell these mirrors show them to appear as this one does.

I have only found one site that shows the mirror pictured as this one does. Where the mirror appears to have the proper base to fit on my car properly.

Once you remove the factory mirror it leaves a resetion on the body that wont be filled by the top pictured mirror unless they ship it with a base like the bottom one has.

My question is has anyone seen these mirrors first hand, or installed some? Do they come with the proper base acording to the make of your car? The sites claim they are pretty universal, fitting many dif cars but all look just like the base on the first picture.

Thanks for your time,

Barry

I would suggest checking the evo forums since they have the same mirrors as lancers. Generally speaking I don't think a lot of lancer owners have tiny race mirrors since they don't race their cars. IIRC Adamkean had a set of mirrors like the ones pictured.

they probably use general stock photos. so instead of having a separate photo for the same type of mirror on every car, they just use 1.

...I have two words for you:

Craft. Square.

If you are after the lightest weight / aerodynamic options, I can't suggest any other mirrors than the CRAFT SQUARE mirrors. They are on so many D1 competition / JGTC / Super Taikyu / etc race cars).

Yes they aren't the cheapest available (there are many "fake" ones that are made-in-Asia etc too), but the sheer quality of these mirrors was simply amazing...all hand made, all made-in-Japan, and all RACE QUALITY.
TC-F = 325g
TC-N1=365g
Can't really get lighter & stronger ones.

They had custom fit 'attachment plates' for my Evo 6 - the website doesn't list them, but I'm sure that there will be a similar product for Evos 8&9. (heck, the HKS Cyber Evo ran them...)

Gratuitous shot of my car
