i have a 2005 lancer es and i've been all over to oem sites, junk yards, aftermarket sites and i've found the trunk i want but i dont' know if it will fit and i don't want to try it out by buying it and trying to install it. I don't want a carbon fiber trunk, i want a stock style trunk lid that doesn't have that damned indent that comes on the 2005 lancer es's for it's license plate. does anyone know if like an evo 7, 8, or 9 trunk would fit on a 2005 lancer es, or maybe even like an 02 es trunk? any tips / knowledge would be greatly greatly appreciated. thank you.

 

I have 2 used Evo VIII trunks

 

sweet, but the thing i'm worried about is will they fit? obviously i might need new hinges but the shape itself, will it fit? because i know the back side has that curve to it, on all lancers but i'm not sure if one curve is deeper than the other making it unfitable. any ideas?

 

The Evo VIII & IX trunks will work fine on the '02-'03 model year Lancers, but not on the '04 + models. Sorry.

 

ahh dang do you know any flat trunk lids with out license indent that will? or am i stuck with what i got or a new carbon fiber?

 

I do believe there is an insert to put into the '04+ trunks to sort of a "delete" the license plate area. Good for those that upgrade to an aftermarket rear bumper with a plate cutout.

 

thats actually a lot better than buying a while new or used like $300 trunk lid. do you know a site that sells products of that nature?

 

did a quick search on here and didn't find but the CF insert for a lic. plate. But try a Google search for it!
