intake

Can anyone post a “how-to” on installation of an Air Intake? I’m planning on purchasing one and don’t want to spend the extra $ on installation. I’ve been looking at some pics on some and noticed that the stock air filter is completely removed so what I am wondering is what happens to the connection to the vent going towards the bumper?? I’m completely lost when it comes to this so I would appreciate any help! Thanks

It would help to know which air intake you're talking about. But generally speaking, none of them are very painful to install. If you can piece together furniture you can install an intake. Another alternative is the drop-in filter from WORKS. It gives you similar power to a short ram intake but without all the noise and installation is super easy.

The connection vent just hangs over the battery. You can take it off or leave it on and do like I did and zip tie it to the battery handle. I also saw someone rig it up to leave half the airbox on with the vent attached.

There are several walk-throughs with loads of pictures in here. Try looking in the Lancer "How Tos/ Installations" I know there's a very good one in there.

How's this one?

The vent is easily removed. It's held on by 2 clips and then it just pops inside the stock airbox. You can remove it totally or leave it in to funnel air towards the intake (if you get an SRI).
