Bypass DRLs ????

Hey Guys,

I know their are alot of threads taking about how you can bypass the DRLs on our 2008s. I was wanting to know if I went to the dheaership and tould them to turn them off for me if you think they will or not. I want to buy one of teh HID kits that FinestSoldier is selling, but dont feel like having my hids on all the time. So can you help me out please and give a a for sure answer. I know there are many threads about this but I want to know what one works the best. thanks alot!

They CANNOT. I was looking at the TSBs for the 2008s, and one of them was a "general information" one. It specifically said that all 2008 Lancers have DRLs and that they are unable to be deactivated.
The dealership isn't lying to you if they say no. They just DO NOT have the capability to do that.

Your only real options are to leave them on 24-7 or to rewire the lighting system.

Just unplug your lowbeam connector and get an HID kit which has its own dedicated wire harness. Then you can tap the relay into the parking lights to get a 12V signal, or directly to the ignition if you want your HID's on all the time.

Yeah thats the thread, thats pretty much the procedure I was referring to. It will allow you to control your HID's on/off manually without DRL's being a problem.
