1 little thing learn from the snow storm

other than scraping ice/snow from your windows .. u might want to clean your wheels as well

a lot of snow can get in to the wheel... and my car vibrated like hell when i drove faster than 70kmh this morning

ya the vibration from ice on the wheels is a killer when you got it bad and trying to drive fast on the highway.

the ice / snow can cause an imbalance and make your care feel like those chair massagers.

but if you leave it in your garage you should be ok if the temp is above 0

Yeah, you guys in TO got hit hard - I can't believe that you're actually crazy enough to go out and drive after a storm like that

I had the same problem today when I got on the highway after driving through 25cms of snow...at first I thought it was the snow that froze in my wheel wells but then after turning my steering completely to one side I noticed I had chucks of snow and ice built up on both my drive shafts.

I took my car over to those coin-op spray washes, turned the steering over to one side and sprayed the snow/ice chunks until they fell or melted off...took my car back on the highway and everything was back to normal, not to mention I had a nice clean car.

NO. The stock Dunlops are horrible in snow. Even a tiny dusting of snow/slush will have you sliding all over the road.

same thing happened to me when I took my wifes SUV to work one day. It shook so bad I swore to GOD something had happened but it was an 07 Acura RDX so I'm thinking RECALL? I found a bunch of snow stock inside the wheels and tried to knock it all out and it worked. Never knew a wheel out of balance would cause so much movement.

We had about 40 cm of snow here on Vancouver Island a couple weeks ago. Heading down the highway, my car stared to vibrate like crazy. I definetly thought there was something wrong. And it turned out the wheels were packed with snow. I think im gonna pick up some 16" steel rims and winter tires. Hopefully that'll solve the problem.

exactly, I still see a few GTS's running around with them and I can't believe their that brave with a tire that can't handle the smallest bit of snow.

I got caught off guard with our first snow storm and my lancer was always sliding and couldn't pick up traction when trying to leave the parking lot in my work...days later I bought some steelies and Michelin X-Ice winter tires.

yeah i had the same problem the other day. good thing im the manager at a car wash and i can wash my car in the coin operated bays for free every day. but yeah it was really vibrating a lot the other day and i doubt it was good for my car to be shaking like that for 10 or 15 miles on the highway.
