The max speed limiter disapear? Anyone make that yet, or is the piggy back ecu?

I know, i know, stupid question, but bear with the newbie, and help a brother out.

 

As far as I know, there isn't a speed limiter on the 08 Lancer. With the GTS, I have yet to find the limit.

 

I havent pegged it out yet as i only got 500 miles on it. I thought i had read on here someone said it stopped at 115. I was just curious.

 

I already pushed it to 190 km/h (120 mph).. and the car felt pretty stable too

 

i thought i heard it governs at 125 mph..could be wrong tho but i'm pretty sure thats a common speed to govern cars at

 

Not sure if I read it right, but I remember a while back someone said they had got theirs to 130 but they had to slow down cuz of a turn. I don't think there's a speed limiter on the 08's (at least the GTS). I wish they had a rev limiter though, I'm tired of taking off in 1st and having it stop at 6k rpm's It sounds even worse when you're at the track and the car just like stops revving for a second

 

Yea, i did that once to, seemed to cut off instead of stutter at 6k. I was leaving in first gear, and thougt it went to 65. It was my first redline in the car.

 

i was on a really long straightaway, a deisel excursen decided to test me so i flored it (left it in drive instead of sport shift) barely stayed ahead of him but it was at 120mph and stayed there, the rpms were tacked out. it didnt feel like it had anything left and i wouldnt really want to push the rpms past redline.


p.s. i know street racing is dumb but it was a two lane freeway and was clear the entire stretch with no on ramps. plus i really wanted to see what it would top out at and isnt that what this thread is about.

dear god I hope you could beat a diesel excursion. Doing that in a geo metro isn't too impressive. They are decently quick off of the line with a good amount of torque but they fall FLAT on their face after the first 1/8th mile or so.

 

i got to 121mph and at 4,900 rpm but had to back off. it can go faster but i dont want a speeding ticket but im going to try to find the top speed this week. o and just to let u know the car will go faster if u redline up till 4th u can get over 105 in 4th but u have to redline each gear well just under redline.
