how do you replace the high beam bulbs?

So I bought 2 sets of bulbs, one high beams and one low beams. I replaced the low beam bulbs, the ones on the outside, but I cant find any way to replace the high beam ones, the inner ones. I have the bulbs sitting in my garage, so I'm ready if anyone wants to provide a tutorial please!!

THANKS!!!!

i bought two sets of bulbs also
the low beams are installed…the high beams are in my closet…why? because mitsubishi clearly figured only midgets would be purchasing their vehicles

now, it can be done, but it’s got going to be easy - so be prepared to cut your hands up a bit - or try and find a friend (girl or asian) with small hands to help you out
basically you first have to take off a plastic ring, then you have to deal with getting the harness unclipped so you can take the bulb out…getting it back in will be fun.

Changing the highbeams on our car is a huge pain in the ***, so be patient. Like razo said be prepared for plenty of cuts and scraps on your hands.

- First reach in and unscrew the black plastic cap by turning it counterclockwise

- Push the cap aside, so you can reach behind and remove the bulb from the housing. Do this by twisting counterclockwise too. Pull the bulb + plug out to the engine bay where you can hold it with both hands.

- Remove the bulb from its plug by pressing on the button and pulling. Without touching the bulb surface at all times.

- Slide the replacement bulb, into the plug till it "clicks" in.

- Reach in with the bulb, and try to screw it back into the housing. Be careful how much you screw it in, since that
will affect the aim. Take your time with this step! Do it in front of a wall so you can check the height of the aim!

- Once you're fully happy with that and the bulb is securely screwed in, place the cap back on and turn it clockwise.

- Now wipe the blood off your hands, have a beer and start on the other passenger side. Don't forget to unscrew the washer resevoir!

wow I guess I got lucky....had no problems here. Yes it is in a tight spot and they aren't easy to get to. But I guess working on volvo diesel engines its not that bad at all(volvo diesel engines have horrible connectors in horrible spots)

Your a freak of nature in Asia then.

And yes, according to North American size average, clearly you have to have midget Japanese girl hands to get them blitches in. *I'm just cracking jokes!*

Can someone please post a projection of their highbeams on a wall? Stock that is.

I just want to compare it with what I've got here after upgrading to Sylvania Ultra's. Basically I just want to check if I've screwed the bulb in correctly, cause the drivers side projection is considerably lower than the passenger side projection.

Yeah thats fine. I actually wanted someone with stock high beam's to check the wall projection for me. Just to confirm if the drivers side is indeed lower?

By the way I got the Sylvania Ultra's off Ebay for $35 not $50
