I have the Lancer ES model and I was wondering if I could install the fog lights without headaches. Like wiring hook-ups and any potential DRL problems? Mitsubishi parts are selling them for $239, and it seems like a pretty good deal. Any help or suggestions are welcomed. Thanks.
Its not to hard, plug and play basically. It comes with all of the needed parts and detailed instructions. You will have to remove the plastic piece above the rad to reach down behind the bumper to secure the wire harness (the instructions say remove the front bumper which is a waste of time). You will then have to take apart the staring column to replace the original signal stock with the new one. And then my personal favourite, take it to the dealer so then can enable the fog lamp feature on the computer....
what aftermarket fog lamps are good? also doesnt that void the warranty?
PIAA and Hella are the two big names I prefer. I had Hellas on my last car and was pretty happy with them.
Shouldn't void the warranty at all. This thread is about putting fogs on a car without them, so it's not like you'd be changing any stock equipment. You'd only void the warranty if you screwed up the wiring and killed/burnt the car.
Should I have my fog lights that I bought from eBay for my 2014 Mitsubishi Lancer ES 2.0L installed this Saturday? Because my local Mitsubishi dealer warned me about my warranty being voided because of it. It's not like im don't it myself and my fog light kit cam with everything. The bumper fitting, housing with bulbs, all of the mounting hardware and wires with switch and relay. I don't understand why they would void my warranty if im asking them to install it for mw because they should know better. They keep telling me about all the BS with the Mitsubishi policy.
