It is for the EVO 9. I didn't read anything about the GTS. There has never been a direct 4G63 swap into the '02 - '06 Lancer and I doubt that there will be one for the '08. Yes it has been done in the last 2 generations of Lancers, but it took alot of fabrication.

^ I think he meant actually putting a 4G63 in his GTS. And to the OP I'm sure it would work, but I am not saying it is going to be easy or actually work properly.

I am not doubting it will work. Anything is possible. It just depends how big your bank account is.

I'm sure that even if you were serious you would never follow thru with this. If you were rich, you'd just outright buy an Evo. Considering even if you got all this power, safety would be the next step.

Odds are since you bought a GTS, you're on a budget and would go broke buying this engine assuming you even have enough money for it.

Your bull****ting everyone here with your fantasies of an Engine Swap.

Well, the 4G63 is a great motor. But if you really have extra money and want to improve your car, why not do something a little easier? RRM is coming out with a turbo kit. Spend $4-5k, install over a weekend, and your car will be a FWD beast. That's going to be waaaaaaay easier than a engine swap that might take months and end up costing you $10-15k, if it even works (I seriously wonder if all the ECU stuff would accept a motor swap or if the car would just go "nuh uh!" and shut down...)

Look at it this way - if you're house hunting and you look at a house and go "hey, lets buy that $200k house and then spend $150k remodeling it!", you should probably just get a different house. So why buy a $20k car and potentially spend $15k ripping out it's heart and brain?

^ lower insurance (Which wouldn't equal the amount spent on an engine swap) and a different interior. Or maybe he can't wait for parts to become available for the 4B11.

But it would still make more since to just rebuild the 4B11 and add a turbo to that. The 4B11T in the new evo shows great gains so far with minimum mods. And it would be alot cheaper and more reliable than swapping for a 4g63.

off topic: Awesome avatar Blacksheepdj. Portal is an awesome game (If your avatar refers to the game anyway)
