I'm not sure if I should be insulted by the whole "messing up" comment, lol. In any case I did everything that you said, and believe it or not, but the toothpaste Idea worked the best

i got no clue if i offended someone or something...but if i did my bad...
anyway...if its still there have you taken them apart and tried on the inside (it could be on both sides)? the 3000gt i have had a similar problem, and i couldn't figure it out until i took apart the lights

nah dude I was just kidding, no I haven't take apart both sides. I've never opened up the thing, I don't think it's on both sides though because when I put some polish on it it clears up 100% it just comes back after about an hour

since you removed that clear plastic layer that was there initially, it wont be perfect, but have you tired putting some wax on them afterwards? that might help seal them up a bit

Well...... There's always that option of.... new headlights.... a bit pricey, but if all else fails... :/

permatex makes a head light lens restorer kit. comes with the types of grit sand paper, buffung compound, cloth, and some gloves. i bought the kit for $12. i was sceptic at first. but if you follow the easy directions, wow! i was impressed. saved me so much money, they look brand new again. i have no pics but, trust me the stuff works.
