Touring Package and HID's

Has anyone heard when they are going to start selling the Touring Package on the 09's. The reason I ask is because if they start selling the package, wouldn't it be possible to purchase the HID's from Mitsubishi as a direct replacement for the current non-HID headlights? Granted they'd probably charge and arm and a leg for them but shouldn't that also solve the problem of the DRL's?

Id like to see them sell them as DR. and they probably will. They will look at it another way to overcharge us and take our money.

They could always just put the HIDs in and keep the DRLs. I know the GTI has them, and my friend is all paranoid about his lights burning out...but i havn't heard from him yet that they've died. And from what he tells me, VW wont kill the DRLs for him either.

I dunno where you guys got your prices from, but when I asked the parts dept at my dealership (Glendale Mitsubishi, Glendale, California) I was quoted $1500 for EACH HID Projector assembly.

The best price I've seen for stock Lancer/Galant Fortis HID Projector assemblies was on Japanparts.com. Their price was about 950 each.

I thought the 1500 each was for the EVO ones, maybe I am mistaken. (And I do also believe that those are a different fit?)

mmartahus, let us know when you find out.

I'm kinda po'ed.

From the Mitsu website:

MSRP: $1000
HID Auto On/Off Headlamps, Active Stability Control w/ Traction Control, Rain Sensing Wipers

Why exactly are you po'ed?

Considering the fact that some people have said they've been quoted $1500 for a pair of headlights I would say $1000 is a fine price to pay for the headlights along with the other two?

(Unless that's what you are po'ed about, and in that case I have answered my own question)
