Evo hood

i have been looking at carbon fiber evo hoods for my '03 OZ, i have found a couple, but they say that they have vents in the top, to "let in cool air". my question is, how do they keep rain and stuff out if they are vents that are open to the elements? i would really like to get one, but i live where precipitation is common, so i don't want my engine to be getting wet all the time. any help?

There is a cover that they come with, that you can screw into place covering up the vents from the inside. I can take a picture of mine tomorrow if you would like, I am going to attempt to install my Evo VII Body Kit in the morning. Its mostly to let the hot air out, there is a seperate vent along the side of some of the hoods to bring in the colder air, but unless you have a hood scoop.... i won't even go there

Make sure you are looking at Evo Conversion Hoods, a regular Evo hood will not fit our cars without tons of modding.

Lots of evo guys run without the cover for better airflow. Not enough rain gets in there to hurt anything. Unless you have a filter right under the open spots.

Thanks dude, the hood isn't carbon fiber, its the Evo VII conversion hood from accolade. metal i guess. Its not painted yet, i am setting an appointment with my shop for like a week away to get it all painted and installed And i love the sound i get from my exhaust, its not high pitched and annoying or anything, its deep and sounds like the car has some serious ballz behind it... although it doesn't, it sure sounds like it.

i like the magnaflow exhaust! with the few styles of cf hoods out there for our cars. which are stock oem cf or evo style. heres a lil bump up for our cars more agressive http://www.aitracing.com/shop/index....oducts_id=1566
