tinting tail lights

please forgive me if this is a redundant post but i tried searching and couldn't really find anything. i was wondering if anyone had tinted tail lights for an 03 or same style of light. i like the style of the clear altezza tail lights, but don't think that the chrome would look very good. so i was wondering if anyone had tinted tail lights, to create a smoked lens look. any help?

What kind of tint do you want?
There's an overlay and a spray.

i wasn't sure, i was thinking something like the film that you can buy to tint your windows only i was wondering if you could use that film to tint the lens of your tail lights.

you can, but it's a pain. The film is a vinyl that more flexable than window tint.

I have 20% on the rear and it does dim their out put but still highly visible during the day. The fronts I have 30% and it Does dim them a bit but I have no problem seeing.
Ice been pulled over multiple time for my window tint and the cops never mentioned them.

I'll have to try it out, I've been hesitant on any sort of light tint for that reason because cops here in my area will find any reason to pull you over once its later then midnight.

i dont understand why people tint their headlights.

taillights are reasonable, but for headlights you are not gonna be able to see anything (at least less) ..all for the tradeoff of having it look a little better

Just throwing it in here, I would avoid overlays, especally if you are applying them in the winter, they are just going to fall off... I was thinking if I wanted to seriously add smoked tails on my car I would buy a set of cheap tails (something commonly disliked like the chromed Evo tails) and spray them with spray on tint. Good luck!

you can get a spray on tint from ebay or autozone, much easier than some film

if you like altezza taillights without the chrome, then why go with tint at all? Get some blacked out depo tails or something similar

Spray on tint looks like crap. Unless you have them profesionaly sprayed.
And overlays do not fall off if you buy the right stuff. Ive had mine on for over 2 years and they still look new.
Know your facts.
