I covered the bumper with masking tape (not whole bumper ), then found a perfect position for license mount and marked drill holes with pencil. Drilled holes, took of masking tape and mounted the kit.

License Plate Mounting Kit Instl

The fastener grommets that are supplied with the kit, how are they perminately fastened to the bumper...? And what size hole do you drill for these grommet fasteners...? Are they a expandable grommet...? Please explain...

Thanks,

i was wondering how it stayed on also. the license plate is held on by them to i think. im trying to find out what size holes to drill, i was thinking about just sizing it up with the ones that are on the middle bumper.

What can you use to cover the holes up or will vinyl be good without anything under it?

I used 1/2 inch drill bit. I looks kind of big at first, but it fits perfectly. Check before drilling anything. I used some vinyl to cover holes in the middle and sprayed with Plasti-Dip on top.

Regarding mounting grommet, here is my quick sketch

What size rivets did you use...? What material rivet did you use...? Was it a CRES (corrosion resistant steel) Blind Protruding Head Rivet...?

STEP 1: hold the plate holder up to the car in the desired location

STEP 2: drill 4 holes in the bumper of you car the same size as the hole in the plate holder

STEP 3: place the rubber grommets in the holes that you just drilled

STEP 4: place the plate holder back in place and fasten with the screws and washers provided.

I've been told to place the license side plate one and a half finger away from the middle part. like the end of the grille
