5900 sounds generous to me. I see OZ rally's going for 4500 with a lot less miles quite a bit on craigslist. I'd take it.

Look and see what the blue book value is on it. You do have alot of miles on the car, and that took a large tole on what they gave you or are giving you. If you are financially able to, think about this as a nice down payment for another car for the family. Everything happens for a reason. It sucks you have to go through this, but this happens to many people and you are not alone with it. It will work out in your favor though. Just look up the blue book value on it, and if it is lower then what they are giving you then think of this as a good thing. If not, make sure they see that you are being under paid. I hope this helps a little if anything. Good luck buddy.

insurance companies do not go by blue book value, I fought for a month for the value of my maxima a 2000 in flawless condition no dents or dings, perfect compression receipts for everything, brand new suspension less then 200 miles on it, and got I believe like 3200, the only thing that they considered for some odd reason was the value of other maximas the same year and mileage in my area that was going for more, to prove that I couldn't get another maxima for what they were giving me. 5900 is a very good price for a lancer.

Sorry about the car but the 5900 is more than enough especially with the mileage. If you really wanted you could buy another used lancer for around 4k and for less mileage too!
