Relocating the battery 4 intake?

This is just a thought! Would it b OK if I were to move the battery to the trunk to make way for my K&N cold air intake The reason i ask is= Its a cold air intake right but the filter sits 2 inches from the radiator 4 inches from the motor and close enough to the exhaust to be a hot air intake So what im thinking of doing is cutting the intake pipe down just be for the bend (Cold air shorty intake custom) so the filter sits where the battery would be. So when or if i can put the battery in the trunk would there b any resistance issues in having a power cable thats 8 or 9 feet long? What gague wire would be recomended, would thick gauge high quality amplifier wire do the trick? And last but not least where would be a good place to ground the battery once in the trunk. It would look alot better under the hood! Thank's evolutionm and it's loyal contributors!!!!!!!!!

Don't waiste your time.
Your current setup already does what it's supposed to be doing on a 4g94, sound good that is.
Your money would be better spent on shielding the filter, rather than moving it somewhere else.

I have all the time in the world and i understand our lil lancer is a supposed fuel economy car to begin with. Ive worked on many different car in the past i like how easy our car is to work on and mine is basically frankenstined out already. I was just wondering if there would b any problems with moving the battery to the trunk, as in would i have any issues or worries about having such a long positive power cable and could i ground the battery once in the trunk. If this is feasable i would do it! Then i could run some kind of pipe from the bumber directley to the intake filter. I have heard of a term used for the intake of hot air into the combustion chamber some where in these forums. So obviousley hot air intake is not a good thing after all, you can fit more cold air into the combustion chamber than hot which would make 4 better combustion. I kno this is not 4 serious power gains but rather efectiveness. And the heat sheild is a good idea but i would like to get rid of some of the clutter not add and also im different and my car should reflect who i am. Im going to get the evoscan with the data logger lcd screen combo with a different maf most likely port and polish the intake port match the head intake and exhaust also get a bigger throttle body so any lil improvement in intake efficency would help. I really like the way the car handles more than anything so if you can handle it why not give it more power to accompany its good handling qualities. Thanks for your time its greatley appreaciated!

You can relocate it, however I would run a ground wire also to the front and make your connections there.
You should use big wire, 2 awg should be fine, as you'll have a longer run and don't want to overamp.
Probily be a good idea to upgrade to a Optima if you haven't already also.

If all you're wanting to do is get a true cold aire intake though, you can get a AEM Cold Air Intake which pipes down to inside your bumper and works great.
They cost $258.
Just so happens I have a new unopened red one for sell for your car for $150 though.

PM me for further help.
