Control Head and Clutch Kit
Hello all,
I drive a 2003 Silver Lancer ES and have a couple of interesting questions.
First: has anyone here heard of the 2-3 shift flare in 2002-2004 lancers? The clutch apparently gets confused and doesn't shift the car at the correct RPM ammount and causes a jolt in the car.
IF you have heard of this, what can i do to fix this problem, (as i've heard its very common in Lancers) and how much would it cost to fix it. Also, where could I buy the part I needed.
Secondly: I've heard of major recalls on the control heads of 2003 Lancers. The knobs won't budge, and because of this, i broke it off.
I tried cranking the heat up in my car and it wouldn't comply, so i pulled the knob out a bit and twisted harder, the damn thing snapped like a twig. So now i need to replace the Control Head. However, I cannot find this part ANYWHERE! I've bought a blendoor kit, and the linkage kit with it, but in order to put the knob back on i also need the control head.
Can anyone help me locate these parts please?
Thank you

well my temperature knob does the same thing, at first i thought i didnt have heat because when i turn the knob to red nothin but cold air comes out. So i took it to the shop and had them inspect it. Found out it was the cable thing that connects to a gear below the steering wheel broke off so i have to manualy switch to heat/ac by turning this gear thing everytime. Its a pain in the *** to switch it everytime but beats taking to the shop, they'll probably charge me a leg or a arm to fix it lol.
