2011 GTS audio wiring
2011 GTS audio wiring
I've been looking for wiring diagrams for my recently purchased 2011 GTS w/o the RF system. I have only the 6 speaker basic system. I am trying to add on an amp and sub to my system. Will probably install a fuller system later on when I get more money.
Here's my issues. I tried to hook up a hi/lo converter to back of factory HU which I thought I had the correct wires but after hooking everything else up (ground wires power wire rca to amp etc.) my amp doesn't power up. Do I need to add a remote wire?
Also now that I've tapped into these wires, for some reason my bluetooth system (I have the FUSE hands-free system) only sends sound to my right tweeter speaker.
Any help/guidance is appreciated!

Yes you always need a remote wire to turn on the amp, it can be controlled by anything that turns on with the IGN key. if you want to simply test your setup just jumper a wire from REMOTE to POWER on the amp and it will stay on, dont keep it like t his as the amp will NEVER turn off and will drain your battery when your car is off.
I am not sure about the fuse system issue

This is the wiring diagram I used http://www.modifiedlife.com/2011-mit...ion-schematic/ . I did my install a few days ago and everything worked out fine. I spliced into my rear speakers for the hi/lo converter. You might want to check with diagram and see if any of your wires or mixed up. Also a good place for the remote wire is the cigarette lighter. In our caars its teal(ggreenish)/black I believe. The wire is clipped into the center dash at the bottom but u shoud be able to pop them out to give you room to splice into it.
Thank you guys for the info. I ended up installing the converter to the rear speaker wires located in the side panel behind the seat belt. Sent the wires under the carpet into the middle console so I now have my hi/lo converter with toggle knob in my console.
I ended up using a wire from an unused wire harness that I have no clue what it's for, but it turned off an on with the car so it does the job. The cigarette lighter one was too inaccessible, it was much easier to take out the center console.
