Evo Exhaust System on a Lancer?

Hello all,

First time poster, couple-day lurker. I just got a 2011 Lancer two days ago and it's pretty much bare bones. I have a neighbor that owns an Evo X and that's why the Lancer seemed so appealing. After I bought the car, he told me that he had his factory exhaust and I should buy it from him and install it on mine. He's asking a bit for the exhaust, but nothing close to the cost of a new aftermarket setup. Its everything from the CAT, which is still attached, all the way back.

My question is if such a swap is even able to be done, is it worth it, and do I risk any damage or voiding my warranty by doing it?

I'll be honest and say that I haven't even had a chance to roll under the car and do any measuring or poking, so I apologize in advance. I am new to this vehicle and deffer to you all, and shall henceforth refer to you as "my group of experts," though not mine exclusively.

Thanks.

BTW. My neighbor says he took off the exhaust at 7k.

Well I've heard of some people putting the ralliart exhaust with some modifications so I can't imagine putting the evo exhaust on. I was actually wondering the same thing. Your service manager is the one to ask. Most will allow it I would say. As long as it's not the exhaust causing your problem it should be fine

I'll have to give my guy a call when I get back from the holidays. It would seem the only person that can answer it is out of town at the local dealership.

My initial research indicates that there may be a slight support difference in the two different versions, but I cannot find any solid evidence that tells me the brackets and/or pipe sizing is any different. I have been using this pictures on this site to try to establish size and configuration of the link from the header to the rest of the system. I've also trolled this entire forum for the last year (mine is a 2011 so no need to go further) and cannot find anything that stands out with the same rough idea.

There is also an Evo stock system for a 2008+ model on ebay right now for more reference HERE if it helps.

Thanks for the help and to anyone else that is planning on dropping a reply.

Bump and just a reminder that I am still waiting to see if anyone has anything they can tell me about the connectivity of an Evo exhaust system to and SE Lancer.

Thanks.

OEM evo x exhaust typically sell for about $50-100.

It is NOT a direct bolt on.

Dang, well I guess I'm in the market for a new aftermarket one. It just puzzles me how some of the aftermarket systems advertise fitment to be for both standard Lancer and Lancer Evo. I guess this is more a "buyer beware" thread now.

Thanks for the help and the time and trouble you saved me. Perhaps the big money idea would be for someone to make an adapter for the exhaust systems if its possible. I can see some good coin in that venture.

-Thanks

Just had a thought, if the muffler doesn't bolt up, what about a cat-back system from an Evo or higher model?

Sorry if this is another useless question, but I see the difference in the Lancer and Evo exhaust, but to a point it looks similar.

Thanks again. This will make a great reference for others later on.

Lightbulb Lancer GT Exhaust

Sooooo I have been checking everywhere. My car is a 2015 Lancer GT with the 2.4L. I haven't been able to find a catback exhaust system anywhere that matches up with my car. I see evo exhausts, ralliart, and base model lancer exhausts but I can't find anything that is catback for the GT. Was hoping someone might have some insight into where I should check? I've searched on hks, greddy, carID, etc...ive been looking for over a year cant really find one that I like that would actually fit the 2.4. Not sure if im just an idiot and they can be attached with some modification, but I was more so hoping someone would know of one that doesn't need too much modification to fit. Ive checked out the borla exhaust for the ralliart and that was my go to one, but there were a few others I had seen as well that I wasn't too sure if theyd actually fit. Any updates/help would be much appreciated
