Throttle Body

I am looking at a new throttle body for my 02 lancer, because of the big difference in airflow will I need to get tuned after installation? And is RRM the best source for a throttle body for my 02 Lancer?

RRM is a good place to start. It never hurts to get tuned.

It allows air into the the intake manifold. However, if you don't know what one is, I would suggest not modding your car until you have an understanding of what everything on how a car works.

A bigger TB will allow more air in. It's one of the best mods I've done, I felt a nice kick. A tune is unnecessary but it will be nice to have it so you can take full advantage of it.

So it is unnecessary, and it won't hurt my engine with all the extra airflow? How much more power am I looking at after the throttle body is installed? And how much power would I look at if it was tuned after the throttle body installation?

maybe 3-5 hp if you're lucky. it's about .100/side bigger than stock. you also have to take into consideration that you're going to be restricted with the intake manifold, stock head, header, cat, and exhaust unless you already made those modification. might seem like a small gain, but if you ever plan on going turbo you will really benefit from the mod. i would recommend starting a fund and pretend you buy bolt on modifications and just put that money in an account til you get enough for a turbo kit. you will be happier in the end. trust me i spent as much for bolt ons as i did for the turbo kit. with bolt ons i added maybe 20hp and with the turbo i added 100whp
