Question Suspension Question..

Ok i know this is a semi dumb question but i just picked up a 2003 lancer oz rally for 300$ 96k miles trans is perfect etc but! The suspensions shot now id like to know what parts would be needed for lets say a whole new front end and how much it might go for.. Its not like the car neeeeeds everything but i was just curious and expecting the worst.. Any info or links to cheap places are greatly appreciated thanks!

yes front end and not everything but like everything involving the strut/shocks basically that should be replaced when changing them and things that could be broken.. Thanks

Monroe and KYB make the front struts for the oz rally. You could also change the springs, top mounts and the cover the goes on the top of the boot, I forget what it's called. If you want to go the performance route, you can get full coilovers but those cost a considerable amount more than regular strut replacements.

Also, check to see if the front end links are good or not. If need be, you can get good replacements from Energy suspension

Check out this thread: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/la...ruts-asap.html

I just replaced my whole suspension so this should give you a good idea of the parts and cost.

could have bad ball joints, and tie rod ends as well, also don't rule out control arm bushings...generally you would replace shocks if they feel "bouncy" meaning they're not dampening the spring enough, they squeak, or make "ooomph" sounds, or if they are leaking fluid...a clunk is usually loose bolts or blown bushings.

Well i do know that when i hit say not so much a bump but a dip even pretty small its like the car bottoms out and you hear a bang.. The rear end seems to be fine i mean id love to do a total replacement but i dont have the cash to just blow on it otherwise id be driving a pimped out evo lol

i would think your transmission crossmember would hit the ground before your suspension bottomed out...i would make sure all the bolts and nuts on the struts and mounts and brakes are tight, and reassess the problem...that way you're not buying new parts needlessly chasing an odd noise, that is the biggest mistake people generally make...
