Hey guys, I'm new to the forum here and I just have a few quick questions.

i have a 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS 5-Speed. I love my car to death and I've been modifying it slowly. I have added a full catback exhaust system and a cold air intake.

My question is... why does my car sound not so "cool" when it redlines in neutral or in gear? For example.. my car will redline and then go down 2 or 3k rpms even if I'm smashing the gas and then go up slowly again.

Like it's slow, it doesn't sound like a cool fast "ra-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta!" It's like a super slow "whhooooooooaaaammmm-...whoammm... whoaaammmm" and it's not as impressive when you're showing offf naturally haha. But yet I have a friend with an automatic 1999 crv and when he revs his car it sounds cool and goes "ra-ta..ta..ta...ta..ta" not super fast but faster than mine and it kind of spits back too which sounds cool. Yet my car is way better than his. Hmm..

I have to constantly like press the gas, holding it down only let's it redline once and then the rpms will drop and won't go back up until I press the gas again so I can't hold it down and get that "ratatatatata" sound and I don't know why.

It doesn't have to be as fast as that RSX sounds when it redlines.. you know that really fast "RATATATATATATATATATA" , I want want to either sound like that or sound like that but much slower.. like "RA.. TA... TA..TA..TA..TA..TA" cuz that would make me happy. My car doesn't do either of those as you could see. What can I do to achieve that? And just so you guys know it's not like I'm going to be redlining it constantly and mess up my car, it's just a neat OPTION to have while showing others or at a car meet and ****. My friend told me getting aftermarket 4-2-1 headers may get me a sound that I want? Idk.. someone help me or someone please understand what I'm trying to do here haha. And if you could guide me as to what I need to purchase or what I need to do then that'd be awesome.
