Question 02 a/t to 06 m/t swap

Hey guys,

My current daily Driver 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer OZ Rally Edition, Has a bad engine I found an 06 OZ Rally Lancer and bought it. It has a Manual Transmission, I want it in my 02, but the 02 is a factory A/t. How much headache will it be to swap. I have the complete other car for parts should be a fairly easy swap right?

I know that i will have to change the break pedal and add the clutch pedal and all those components as well, and swap out the wiring harnesses.

Any pointers here or things to watch out for?

This is not my first a/t to m/t swap but the last time the car was an 80's model.

Hey man don't know if you started yet but I'm doing the same thing it just takes time and a chill mood, I read a couple of post saying you need to pull the A/T wiring harness and put the M/T harness, pulling the engine and tranny was easy, I believe you have to cut into the firewall to install the clutch pedal, just pull everything from your car and put mostly everything from donor and place and mount everything, make sure to measure, mark, and take pictures of everything you take apart.
Few posts stated the trans mount will bolt up some said it won't, don't know much but I measured my 05 es trans mount and donor 03 es mount it's about the same,
well if you go through with it good luck

Hey, that's cool. I am getting ready to start my project. I have measured all the mounts and have spent hours upon hours of research making sure that this is the way that I want to go. it is, so as soon as the rainy season is over here in my part of the Good Ole' USA I'm gonna jump in and get it done this spring/summer. I miss my Lancer and can't wait to get behind the wheel again with some manual shifts and good thumping tunes..

Yeah that's what's up, if anything I'll share any info I find out with setting up the M/T clutch bracket, I'm not so lucky to be working in a garage but getting sand blasted isn't any better so it'll take some time for me to get it done
