Harness Help!
Hey guys (and girls), I could really use some help finding a 4-point racing harness that is purple in color...I've got a 2002 Thunder Gray OZ Rally, and I'm doing a purple accent...Gettin black racing seats, now need to find purple harnesses...i know i've seen them in the past, but that was before i decided to go purple, so i dont know where i'd seen them. Any help or links are HUGELY APPRECIATED! Thanks

Unless the price includes a wheelchair, stay away from 4 points harness.
Go 5 points and up, or stay stock. /thread |
yeah, i've decided to go 5 point after some more research. will a 5point install on a racing seat that doesnt have the slot for 5 point?

No no no no no no no no no no no no no. No. No. If the seat is not designed for a 5-point, you can't use a 5-point. If you don't have a roll bar or roll cage, you shouldn't use a harness. Period. End of story. This is my first post in this section for months, that's how strongly I feel about this.

Wow ambystom, totally appreciate the enthusiastic response! On a very similar note, does anyone know where I could get a seat harness bar? I've seen them in Evo's that they bolt in where the stock seatbelt straps between the rear and front doors and goes across behind the seats. I'd like to get one of these cuz they dont eliminate the use of the back seats like many others i've seen....

A harness bar is not safe, for the driver or passengers. A harness bar does nothing for rollover protection, you might as well bolt the harnesses to the ground. You still cannot have passengers in the rear with a harness bar, I assure you, the steel or aluminum used in a harness bar is a lot stronger than the bones in your friends or family's head.
Read these threads https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/mo...ear-seats.html https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/mo...harnesses.html https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/mo...e-rollbar.html Cliff notes: Harnesses with no rollover protection is a nice recipe for a broken neck/back/skull. Don't half-ass safety equipment, either do it right or leave it stock. |
