No you CANNOT do it....think about it for a second....would you want anyone you remotely like or care about back there when you get rear ended??? Their face will go right into the bars....

Its not very comfortable. I have one. But it is cheaper than getting a complete roll cage. If I were to do it again I would get a harness bar and some good four pointers.

well if theres ANY harm at all in having rear passangers with the roll bar than i wont get a roll bar. So then the question is how safe is a car at the track without a roll bar?

Not a good idea, cage or roll bar, whoever sits back there will hate life and will probably get severly hurt or killed in the event of a bad accident. Just me 2 cents.

Not sure what sense that would make unless your only reason for having a roll bar is to hold your harnesses. I doubt that's the case, and a harness bar + 4pt for road racing is about as bad as it gets, so I'll assume that was dry humor on your part.

I agree....a roll cage is definatley unsafe for rear passengers. I had a 6 pt. autopower cage in my 90 eclipse gsx.... Looking back at that car, there is no way I would put anyone back there....however the roll cage came in handy with a wild ex-g/f of mine...BUT thats a whole different thing though!

Then, add the fact that he already has a roll bar and is saying he'd rather remove the roll bar and just have a harness bar - that's crazy talk.

Even if you got the roll bar w/ no diagonal or harness bar, it's still too dangerous for passengers in the rear seat. Anyone sitting on the left or right side will get there skull split open in a side impact.

As for the harness bar, any rear passenger will most likely need some major dental work if any frontal or rear collision.
