How to: install B&M short shifter kit

So I installed a B&M short shifter in my car and am very impressed with the instructions that came with it.
I'll post them here with my own notes included.

I chose the 45186 kit which is the adjustilbe shifter, either 15 or 45% reduction your choice.
The kit includes;
shifter, metal base bushings, locktight, grease, all hardware needed for install.

Note; The stock Lancer shift knob will not fit on this shifter after install.
The stock knob can't go down far enough on the shifter to screw on it.
You'll need a new knob, m10x1.25 is the size you need.

You will need a dremle or something to cut the shifter base if you choose 45% reduction.

Here is the instrutions:

And here are before and after shots.

Bfore with stock knob

After with stock knob

After with Blox knob

This shifter at 45% makes the bottom section longer then stock and the top shorter, a true short shifter.
It makes a big difference!

I drove the car first with the stock knob (doesn't thread on) on the B&M shifter and it was good.
Then I installed the Blox knob and wow!
A big differece.
The 450 grams really put some weight into your shifting and made it about half as hard to put it in gear.
You should get the B&M shifter but even if you keep the stock shifter, get the Blox 450 gram shift knob!

Total job time: about 2 hours
Job difficulty: easy to moderate
