Removing Manual Center Console
Only tool needed is a phillips screwdriver.
First open up the storage box between the seats. Remove the two black screws in the bottom.
Pull up from the back of this portion and then pull backwards at a 45 degree angle. The section should release from the tabs that hold it into the next section of the console.
With the first section removed you now see two gold screws and a wiring connection. Disconnect the wiring connection (goes to the cigarette lighter) and remove the two screws.
Next go in to the front passenger side. Underneath the dash there is a small panel that is attached way down in the footwell. This only has 4 snap ins on its backside that you can not see. Just give it a firm, even, slow pull and it'll pop loose. Now you can see that there is one "rivet" holding the console section into a metal bracket. Use your screwdriver to push the center in and then remove the rivet.
Go to the front driver side. There is a large screw "rivet" that you need to back the center out of with your phillips driver. One that is out the panel will snap loose. Again, there is one plastic "rivet" that is attaching the console to a metal bracket. Push in the center and remove it.
Open the ash tray lid on the console. Graph the ash tray with your fingers and pull up and back. It'll snap out. That reveals one more phillips screw down in the bottom. Remove that. (It can be slightly tricky to get to thread out for some reason)
With these all removed unscrew your shift knob. Standard fair of lefty loosey.
Once all these components have been loosened and rmoved the remaining console section should pull up and clear the shift lever.
