How to remove the evaporator core and expansion valve?

So my AC is not really working correctly? My compressor keeps bogging the engine really bad when the clutch keeps on and when it clicks off engine runs smooth after going 45mph and runs normal. It just bogs badly when your at a red light or at a stop. But going to replace the compressor and accumulator dry. But i wanna know if theres a expansion valve on these cars or not? If so how do you remove it and i know its mounted on the evaporator core from other vehicles. Thank you

Yes, there is an expansion valve (installed next to the coil).

They are under the dash so most likely (have not done it myself) need to remove the dash to access them.

Ok I got the expansion valve replaced. So before attempting on removing the dash and blower motor like i did, the expansion valve is located in front of the firewall behind the exhaust manifold heat shield. Now I thought you only can remove the hoses for it and remove the screws behind it, not in this case. After you remove the A/C lines on the valve, theres two allen screws behind the fittings, remove them and remove the expansion valve. Its that simple!! No more old fashion on the evaporator in the dash. So now I had to reinstall the dash back together for nothing :/ Hope this helps
