Why do so many ppl think the mirage is better than the lancer?

other than this type of situation, i think we need to stick together.

we're not stubborn, or a$$holes, we are the red-headed stepchild of the all empowering evo.
<-- knows this will start a fight, buuuuuuuuttttttttt
evo owners (for the most part) hate lancers. we suck, they're great. that is all. i know guys that are like this, and i also know evo owners who have a great attitude towards us "little" guys. we argue with each other over that. mirage guys dont hate on lancers, lancers dont hate on eclipses, etc. it all seems to stem back to the evo. they hate on others, unless its a dsm. that seems to be the only common ground
dsm guys are similar though. if you have a 420a, you should probably light it on fire and push it off a cliff because it will never be as fast as the 4g63.
mitsubishi owners are just a family who likes to fight with eachother over anything and everything
that is all.

I bought a Lancer for a commuter and because Mitsu is my choice of car brands, along with Dodge- Dodge has no good choice for a commuter though..
And no its not only us that hate. The SRT-4 Guys for the most part hate Neons.
Its whatever you like, your gonna meet car guys who like anything as long as your cool about it, but then your gonna meet some that are real ignorant *********.
I dont judge just based on the car.
But for the most part, I HAVE come across a lot of EVO owners who shouldent own one or bare a "car guy" title. I've also come across Civic owners with the same attitude.
I'm an enthusiasts, I like all cars, and it shows.
EDIT: I do not however like "Rice" on any or when Lancers try to look like EVO's(Same goes for Neons and SRT4s, WRXs and STis, N/a DSMs and F/I DSMs. No need for any of that.) Your car isent that, dont make it try to look like it, its not unique

Mitsu guys live in enclaves: Miragers + Lancers to a certain extent, 3g 4g61T, ClubDSM'ers, 3kGT, 3g eclipser, and 4g eclipser. All of them have a different background and making money demographically.
ex: do you think the supra guys want to hang around w/ a bunch of 'rolla guys? I just don't see it.
H&A guys live on another plane of existence. In the early years, they took on the full brunt of jokes against American F-body cars since they tried to earn the respect of performance machines, next to the Datsun Z's of the 70's. It took tuners about a decade or dozen years to finally click on the Vtec; thus, the intergra was born enough to match some the 'stangs and 'maros. Respect was earned and dished right back out.
When H&A guys stood on the mountain pretty much unchallenged from compact cars. They dished out a bunch of abuse that was reaped upon them by the domestic guys. Basically, they do the pecking as the alpha male in compact cars scene.
Now, in the last few years, those old schoolers are fading away since most have a family now and can't pour their heart and soul into their machine anymore. The old guards are away, and the new recruits just don't have the same zeal anymore or battle hardened. Look at H&A scene: the crazy popular 2g ago civics are almost gone from the scene like fossils relics of S13, S14, ITR, and DSMs.

When i went to puerto rico, i had a chance to see what a nicely modded mirage can look like and i was surprised. Then i got a chance to drive my cousin's black 2 door mirage and it felt great. I dunno if it was the smaller roads or what, but the car felt as though it had a lot more to give than my lancer. I dont know much about mirages, but alot of them had "TECHNICA" badges, anyone know if thats a special model? Needless to say if i find a 2-door mirage standard and in good condition, i might say goodbye to the lancer.

the two are similar in engine capability obviously because they have a similar engine. is suppose the 93 is a little better for turbo because they didnt bore out the displacment. but suspension wise they have a slight advantage due to size and weight
of course asthetically the mirage and lancer , its just subjective. i dont see one as better, they're just different.

In PR, TECHNICA is a mirage w/ other options that was never offered stateside.
In the US, you're going to find tons more 1.5 liters than a G93. It was somewhat expensive comparing price to HP-ratio for the G93.
BTW: you can't compare prices in Aussieland and NZ (in the aritcle of the above-mentioned pics). When the E8 arrived all over the world, there has been a ripple effect of driving prices down. You are going to see a lot more attempts in the past 3-4 years now than the last dozen years or so.
Of course, I never expected a downspiraling of Evo motor prices, except stateside to a certain extent. Mirages are getting cheaper as it gets older, especially the G15.

i owned a 5g before my lancer. The mirage was a raw car...its light, nimble, responsive and pissed off. The Lancer is a little more refined but still has the mirages soul...it wants to come out and play and with some work it can perform just as well and even better than the mirage.
as revolt4revolver said the aesthetics of the two cars clearly depends on your tastes...i like how both cars look and the 04-06 bodies are nice too. i can see certain things being done to each body style that the others can't really pull off.
performance wise? I stood next to my old 5g mirage for awhile even while owning my lancer but the more i looked into my lancer and started to play with it the more i started to like it. I really liked the raw state the mirage was in and plus I started toying with my mirage back in the early days of the original mirageforums when it was still on that dreamwater or whatever server/board so my heart, soul and respect for mirage guys putting up with alot of bashing and the struggle to make our cars faster is alot stronger with me.
I like all types of cars and have respect for anyone fixing up a car be it a geo, scion, muscle car...just as long as you aren't a jack *** and show that you understand and respect others for modifying their cars as well. The search to make your car perform faster and better is a goal we all have in common.
