installing aftermarket headunit - HELP!

What's up everyone. Just got a 7" in dash dvd system to install in my '04 ralliart with the Infinity system. I was told that I have to bypass the amp since the stock headunit has no power to the speakers. Do I need a powerless unit to integrate to the existing amplifier? Is it possible to still utilize the stock amp?
Any help would be awesome.

it is strange that one in dash dvd player doesnot have output for the speakers. well in that case use the rca outputs and plugthem to the amp the to the dorr speakers, no more unit is needed. amout the stock amp please tell more about it the what plugs have high level or low level?

get a wiring harness the only thing i know that amp powers is the opt sub if you have it but if you hook it up right you dont haft to bypass it the system should play through it from what i have been told in the past but look at the spec on your car it will tell you if you have amp and sub in your car what dvd indash did you get

The unit I bought is powered but I was told that the Infinity head unit that came out of the car is not powered. I was told that I have to wire the new unit to all the speakers bypassing the stock amplifier that is under the seat. I was wanting to utilize that amp, but the plug for the amp is proprietary.

do you have a wire harness for the aftermarket deck that you wire up to you aftermarket radio if you do you can hook it all up
if you need to bypass the amp look for a amp bypass kit most audio stores have them but you should be able to run it with the amp in the car

You can use the new headunit to send the signal to the factory amp under the passenger seat. Use the below adapter to plug the factory amp into your new headunit's pre-amp outputs.

Thanks Otter. I would have never found that. Bad news is, I already returned the headunit. Good news is, I know now that I can use any headunit with the stock amp.
Thanks for the help.
Just curious, does anyone know if the sideskirts on an evo are the same as the ralliart. WTB some side spats but the seller doesn't know if they'll fit the '04 ralliart. They're for an evo VIII.

It'll fit. Both cars use the same sideskirts.

If you have the S&S package (with the sub and amp under driver's seat) The circular end of the adapter plugs into the cable coming up from the amp. Then, the rca's will plug into your aftermarket headunit.
I've got a better question. On the site where they sell this adapter, how do you get the price? or better yet, how do you buy the d*mn thing!?!

no, the harness connector is to supply power to the headunit. you will still need to buy that adapter.
