ok i got the MITAH and my headunit is working however the rear speakers are quieter than my front and my sub is working but putting out weak base compared to before..

the MITAH adaptor has 4 RCA cables... my new deck houses only 2..
so i attached the 2RCAS representing rear L and rear R into my new deck..

now for the harness... for some bizzare reason there isnt any connections for front and rear lines for the stock harness...

and i decided to cut the 2 extra rca cables from the mitah adaptor and decided to make a connection to the white front R and black front L harness lines to this..

also to make it more complicating...i realized connecting both sets of white lines that represent front L to the rca line doesnt allow my deck to work as it codes for short circuit..
so i ended up connecting only one of the lines and the same i did for the black front R line..

end result...pain in the *** and toiok me alot of time... and now my base sucks *****..

can somebody know wats goin on??

thanks

Otter i sent u a pm

I replied to your PM. Basically, though, when a headunit has only 1 pair of preamps, it's meant for a subwoofer. The way you have it wired up now, only the front speakers are getting a signal. If you hooked up the two wires you cut (no idea why you cut them) then you'd only get a signal to your rear speakers. Your subwoofer is weak because it pulls its signal from both the front and rear channels. If only one of those channels is getting the signal, then the sub is getting half the signal it normally would.

You need a proper headunit with 2 sets of preamps.

otter so should i do this??

just leave the rear L and rear R rcas of the mitah adapter attached to my kenwood deck and as for the front L and front R rcas (i cut) leave it alone..

for the audio harness should i buy another one??
because the one that came with the mitah adapter doesnt have wires to connect for rear L and rear R front L and front R from my kenwood deck...

I found that bizzare...i know best buy has audio harness that will connect all the front L and front R rear L and rear R....

My question is... if I connect the Mitah adapter 's Rear R and Rear L rcas to my kenwood deck...would that give me all the base I need to the sub??

The solution to your problem is to buy a headunit with two sets of preamps. You're not going to solve your problem with your current headunit.

Might work. He won't be able to fade, but if that's not important to him, then it could be an option.

I have a headunit with 3 pre-amp outputs (Kenwood Excelon x791): Front, Rear, Sub. I have the wire harness installed but the wireharness only has 2 sets of pre-amps. I took 2 y-rca splitters so I could pair the sub and rear speakers because my sub wasn't working, well it still isn't working. Maybe I should try pairing the front and rears together and putting the sub on it's own? This sucks Mitsu made it so difficult to add a head unit.

if you are using the stock HU then you need to hook up only the front and rear pre-amp outputs, the sub out will not be used. the only difference is the sub out is low frequency only, and the other two are full range outputs. the stock amp takes the full range signal and sends the appropriate frequencies to the speakers.

You should only hook up the front and rear preamps. You don't use the sub output on the stock amp. The amp sends the signal to the sub based on the front/rear signals.

But my deck has a built-in crossover and won't let sub frequencies out when the front & rear rcas are used and the sub rcas aren't. So how would the amp get the appropriate frequencies without tying in the sub rcas with the rears?
