my car freshly cleaned

I see everyone else make pic threads when they get their car cleaned and such so i guess i'll take a stab at it and see what kinda comments i get. I just got it all cleaned up inside and out so i figured this was the best time to take a few pics. i wish i had a more exciting backdrop but my apt parking lot will have to do.

my rather plain (but clean!) interior

nice dirty engine shot...

I've had it since jan 03 and it's an 02 lancer es. i bought it with 8k miles on it for $9,000 factory recertified from the local mitsu dealer and i have never had any problems with it. Yeah, i'd like to have a 5 speed and i'd like to have something a bit faster but it handles great and i like driving it and it's all i can afford for now. I'm hoping to get something else when i get out of the air force early next year.

i'm tired of being a babysitter. i've only been in 5 1/2 years and the last bit of that has been as an e-5 (staff sergeant) and i don't even get to really work on equipment any more. i'm a computer operator, i work on servers for my base and help users who are having problems and now that i'm an e-5 i'm supposed to be more showing new people what to do and less doing stuff on my own and that is total crap. i don't want to be a supervisor i want to be a technician so i'm getting out to get away from all that and start making my own decisions about my life and my career. plus lately the military has been all about getting to know people that work for you and taking care of them and i'm sorry, but some of these people are retarded and i don't want to be constantly looking out for them because they can't make good decisions for themselves. there are just so many reasons... the military is changing and i'm not interested in where it's going.

nice start on your car! As for being on a tight budget i think most of who have lancers are too. if you want to do some cheap but good mods read all the diy stuff. simple things like blacked out head lights to match your wheels really helps. What kinda exhaust is that on your car?

there are tons of diy stuff you can do. black out headlights/tailights, paint sahd, black out reflectors, debadge trunk, change interior light colors, etc etc. and there are also tons of cheap stuff you can get like a shorty antenna, tint, and lowering springs. iw ould advise against trying to mod for power bc you wont get any without spending a lot on a turbo.. instead jsut get suspension mods like a rear strut bar and rear lower tie bar from RDDesigns (the evom vendor PDXRalliart). also get the progress rear anti-sway bar. costs much less to me make your can handle well than go fast.

i have CF reflectors from RRM, i like the trunk emblems so i only took off the ES, have the antenna, no tint i can barely see as it is (lol), have springs but waiting til i get new struts to install them so i don't destroy my stock struts

i have a rear anti-sway bar, rear strut tower brace, don't have the lower tie bar so i guess i will give that a look next. i also need to get a shop to do some exhaust work for me but who knows when that will be.

i have some sprint springs, they were custom made because i wanted blue springs. they are located in california, i guess they are a fairly well known company. i may use the hobby shop on base to try to install the springs myself, they have real mechanics there to help or answer questions... just have to wait and see how cool it is the next few days (i'm off til wednesday after i get off work tonight) i can't stand sweating my butt off while i'm working on something.

yeah, i've been here at Keesler a long time... i'm ready to move on already.
