i have a spare grille in my attic. I want to paint it glossy black and put it on my lancer. what kind of paint should i get? Where can i get it? (autozone)

 

There is a type of enamel out specifically for plastic called Fusion...I think it's made by Krylon. I'm pretty sure I saw it at Lowes, but maybe Autozone would have it too.

 

you really dont have to get any special brand paint. just get a glossy enamel paint. search for the how tos for this.

 

yeah it isnt going to matter as much what brand you use as long as its not just some really cheap crap. just do a little sanding and get all the "chrome" off and paint it. use a primer first though. or if you really want to use the krylon fusion like was mentioned earlier, it works i used it on my car and i didnt even sand. but now i have a few ships and you can see the chrome a little bit.

 

you dont need to get the chrome all the way off, jsut scuff it some so the primer sticks better.

i bought it at lowes, it was some wierd name, i didn't really sand the chrome.. and when i saw a run and tried to said it, it peeled off the paint... but... b/c i am man, i spray over peel, and it now gone! lol but i know what ur thinkin.... but y? u ask. b/c my body kit will be here soon... ( should have it on by november.)

 

are you wondering if there's a specific glossy black or something? i'm pretty sure high gloss would work just fine, krylon is a good brand but if you don't care then it won't really matter as long as it's not 50 cents a can. you pretty much will get what you pay for. but in either case, make sure you do sand it, even a little. will make it look that much better.

There is a really great color for those ugly factory chrome grills out there.. its called.. Evo Style..

 

my buddy used vht caliper paint on his interior pieces. it actually came out nice and glossy. i know you already painted your grill, but i guess you could try that next time if you want.
