kareem...dont make it seem like the wiring for the cedia lights are almost plug and play...cus its not close to being that way...if oyu know enough about wiring then its simple...if you have some experince then it will take you about 3hours...testing the wires is the on that takes a little time...at the time i installed mine...the first light took me 3hours to get it al right...then like anojther 30 for the other light...let us know if you have anyquestions i think ive done it enough to help guide you through it

Rigos, I was talking about wiring HID Kits, not the Cedia lights. I agree that the Cedia lights wiring is a lil complex, but the HID's are pretty damn easy. Joe got charged $100 or so to install his HID kit (back a few months ago), which i think he coulda done himself and saved that money.

Sorry, i couldnt tell u... joe was the original owner of em and he doesnt even know. But the problem is that from brand to brand the temperature vs. color changes. For example a McCoullogh 6100k kit is pure white, but Xtec's pure white kit is like 5300k... so there is no standard set for temperature vs. color. Sorry

The lancer stock bulbs are 9007.

4Gaijin63, the housings I have on my car (with the purple HIDs) are the chrome cedia housings. Joe offered the GB with Chrome or Black housings. Here's the thread:

Mine:
85122 Phlips 4300K H1-rebased bulbs with Philips LVQ-212 ballasts (oem color, Xenondepot) $450

Kareem:
7000K bulbs with Osram ballasts. $300 (xtec/IPF, same as pearlwhiteoz)

Both great kits.
Mine werent correctly adjusted last night, as you can see the beam pattern was awful...
Glares everywhere, caused a lotta finger-flippings on the way home last night...
I spent 1 hour adjusting them after i got home lol...

As far as color selection goes, there are two main color temperatures out there: ~4100 kelvin, which is OEM color, and ~6000 kelvin, which is aftermarket color. By the way, the term 'color temperature' does not have any correlation with the property of 'thermal temperature'.

MISCONCEPTIONS
There are many companies and private merchants out there that will advertise 7000K, 8000K, and even 12000K HID kits. Most people think that these bulbs are brighter, that these bulbs should cost more money, and/or that they will perform better. All three statements are completely false. Perhaps this misconception and frenzy for purple lights originates from BMW and Audi's infamous Hella projector HIDs.

So allow me to explain the real truth of the matter... Philips is the number one manufacturer of HID bulbs. The Philips OEM D2S bulb is rated at 4100K at 12.8 volts and produces 3200 lumens of light. The Philips Ultinon D2S is 5800K at 12.8 volts and produces 2400 lumens of light. As you can see, with all other factors remaining constant, the brightness of an HID bulb declines the higher up the color index you go. Vision, a Korean bulb manufacturer, makes an 8000K bulb, which they used to advertise on Acura-Forums as 2000 lumens bright. This is barely a marked improvement over halogens, and will produce more glare and eye fatigue than it is beneficial. 4100K has been proven through tireless independent research by the Germans, Japanese, and Americans to be the most functional, truest white and thus the brightest possible color temperature (ceteris paribus).

Every car manufacturer in the world (including BMW and Audi) uses none other than a standard 4100K gas-discharge bulb. No exceptions. The reason being is that 4100K is daylight white in color and produces the same color visible light as direct sunlight. This is least fatiguing functional color on the eyes and produces the most comfortable contrast on the road.

The reason why you may notice the color temperature difference from different aftermarket kits is because
1. Internet pictures (Don't believe what you see on the internet. http://personals.yahoo.com proves that)
2. Different housings used (and since most of us with aftermarket HID kits uses haolgen reflectors, the color, beam outputs will not appear as desired)

Even though they may look different to the onlookers, the actual light output will be the same. (eg. A-brand 8000k vs B-brand 8000k)

Last but not least, here's a little comparison: (none of these were mine nor Kareem's)
4100K

8000K

8000K vs 4300K

4300K won
