I WILL be putting a computer in my car, which is why i had this idea... rather than plugging the computer into the AUX IN of the HU and losing the 5.1 channel surround capability. I dont have the money to burn on a 5.1 channel surround headunit nor do i have the money to burn on a REAL car 5.1 channel surround sound system. For those of you calling this speaker system crappy... i didnt ask if it was crappy or not... so I would appreciate it if you kept those comments to yourself. I only asked if it was a good idea to put them in the car.

The reason they say for computer use only is because they don't have a decoder built in. 90% of computer speakers jst use the sound card. BUT since he is hookin it up to a computer then he will have no problems with this.

GO FOR IT

From my experience with computer audio the decoder is built into the system amp. The output from the sound card is still either RCA or a mini stereo plug..... Atleast in what I have used the 5.1 decoder in the amp for the system converts the stereo output from the sound card into the 5.1 surround sound. This with the proper power source will work in a car. Then again, if he is somehow sticking in the computer too, then it desn't really matter
