its sad when people ask a simple question and the same girls come here with their same old "omg, why would you put that on a slow lancer non evo non mr? omg im going to go finish painting my nails!" the discussion is about whether or not the VG will fit. i was with my friend when he got his, and the manual it came with clearly said "Lancer/Lancer Evolution." they made it for non-evos non-mrs so lets stop the whinning?

i know for sure it fits 04/05s, not sure about anything lower though. gl

ok, let me just clarify this, the vg does not create downforce, it generates a vortex which helps the SPOILER(i.e. big evo8 spoiler) create downforce. useless, and actually detrimental w/o spoiler.

Yes, the wing does increase downforce. But the VG increases downforce whether there's a wing or not.

Yes, this is the correct theory.. The vorticies it creates allows the spoiler to generate MORE downforce.. It has no effect if you don't have a spoiler, or the low spoiler (the low spoiler is not in any way aerodynamically effective no matter what because its caught up in the dirty air the rear window generates)

I personally think its unattractive on any car.. but it does work.. as with the splitters on the front.. However these are modifications that are only effective at speeds at or over 100mph.

 

Exactly what MalibuJack said if you do not have an Evo VIII large spoiler on your Lancer then this will have no effect except for visually and that will be for people who know nothing about it. In my opinion it is a waste on a regular lancer or even an Evo without a wing or with the small Lancer wing.

who the f*** cares of iut creates a .00001 amount of downforce... a 120-150 hp na lancer will not need one... and its stuid to me to put on something that doesnt serve a function... im done with this topic... tired of seeing it up here..

 

^^^ for example, you buy an I/E... why put those on? You get a max combined 5-6hp... so you spent well over 350bucks for that much increase? Shame, shame, shame... but the reason you did it, was because it was something that you wanted to do to your car, and you don't car what other people think, so just leave it at THAT!
