pondering on my ride and my hood.

the following is me babbling to myself as i drive home... i see rigo has his new vis hood... i have the same hood... on silver lancer i have blacked out depos, cf reflectors, silver mr7s (motegi), oz kit(black) and rmr lip 2. and a new spiffy rrm cf ralliart spoiler... so i think to myself, my hood is now f'd to a certain extent, (i have a crack in it, and i think i might paint it silver, with black vents.. and i was thinking of fitting a rrm cf grill to it... i want to kno from any one who has done this fabrication of the grill to the vis hood let me know what was involved... and how much (ballpark) my hood would cost to paint... any thoughts on this new idea for my ride would be nice.... thanks guys.

Vents make it harder... it's much cheaper to tell a shop to paint a WHOLE hood rather than give them detailed instructions on what to paint and what not to paint (like telling them to mask off the vents and doing specific things that requires more prep work).

if you mask it yourself... then they may just paint!

Body shops dont like it if you do something for them (they know that it's money they could have made). So they usually tell u they have to do it over and give u some BS reason for it. I'm speaking from experience here.
